Along with the money!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p><p>No, the company&#8217;s money is the property of the legal entity.<\/p><p>Your personal money will only come into play when the company pays you:<\/p><p>Dividends<\/p><p>Salary<\/p><p>Reimbursement for expenses paid personally (such as business-related costs covered by your personal funds)<\/p><p>Non-taxable compensations, such as for health-related expenses (sports activities)<\/p><p>Other payments on which the company has paid taxes (special allowances, contributions from capital, etc.).<\/p><p>2. <span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201c<span lang=\"en-US\">My account statement at the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">bank shows where the money went. Do I still need a receipt?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p><p>It is essential to get a receipt\/invoice and provide it to your accountant.<\/p><p>This includes purchases made online, for example, on AliExpress, paying for Meta\/Facebook ads, or for other software products like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, AI, ChatGPT, and so on. Each purchase made with company funds must be documented with the corresponding primary document.<\/p><p>3. &#8220;Here\u2019s the receipt! This is what the cashier gave me!&#8221; <br \/><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Yes, the receipt is issued, it wasn\u2019t lost, and you provided it to your accountant <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">in a timely manner<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">However, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">it doesn\u2019t have the compan<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">y\u2019s <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">name on it\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/p><p>Or sometimes, the receipt is issued to a different legal entity \u2013 for example, you used a friend\u2019s discount card. As a result, there&#8217;s no proof that this was an expense of your company.<\/p><p>Any expense document should be issued to the company (unless, of course, you want to pay for it with your personal funds). Yes, it&#8217;s easier and quicker to just grab the receipt from the cashier without putting the company<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2019<span lang=\"en-US\">s <\/span><\/span>name on it, especially when the line behind you is growing.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">But during an audit, the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Estonian Tax and Customs Board<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> will ask you to remove such incorrectly issued expenses from your company\u2019s declaration, and you\u2019ll be required to return the tax amount.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p>By the way, this applies not only to store purchases through the cashier. Often, invoices from telecom providers (e.g., Zone, Elisa, Tele2) are correctly issued to the company, but the content of the bill shows a payment for something unrelated to the company, such as a personal TV package or a parking fee for a vehicle that has no connection to the business. These are personal expenses and not related to the company\u2019s activity. Payment is made in two parts:<\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">200 euros at the start of the liquidation proces<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">200 euros upon completio<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">n<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> when the final declaration is submitted to the Commercial Registe<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">r<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Stage 1 of Liquidation:<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Preparation of <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">liquidators\u00a0final\u00a0statement\u00a0of\u00a0account <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">as of the current dat<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">e<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Decision by the owners regarding <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">liq<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">uidation and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ap<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">pointment of a liquidator (instead of a board member).<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Submission of the liquidation application to the Commercial Register.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Publication of the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">notice of liquidation\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">in public records.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Expenses: State fees for the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">liquidation<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> application and publication <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">of the\u00a0notice of liquidation<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Stage 2 of Liquidation:<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">After six months from the publication of the liquidation announcement, the final balance and decision on the distribution of assets are submitted.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Submission of the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">liquidation<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> application<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the Commercial Register and appointment of a person responsible for maintaining the company\u2019s documents.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Between the stages, accounts with creditors\/debtors are settled and the bank account is closed.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Taxes:<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">If there is accumulated profit in the company, a 25% income tax on the net amount must be paid when closing the company.
